Must be given by a licensed veterinarian.
This is a combination shot, usually containing Distemper, Hepatitis, Lepto, Parvo, and Parainfluenza. Different vets have different variations on this shot, so be sure to inquire. Some are good for a year, some for 3 years.
This is for canine cough, sometimes called “kennel cough.” We require that your dog be vaccinated for Bordetella every six months. Most vets use an intra-nasal vaccine, but if your vet uses an injectable vaccine, we will honor it for a year. We will need written proof that it is injectable.
Canine Influenza was first discovered in 2007, and the vaccine was developed shortly thereafter. In the ten years since it’s discovery, the Canine Flu has spread quickly throughout the United States, including Arkansas. The vaccine has been proven to be very effective, almost 90% after two initial booster shots. All area vets are now carrying the vaccine, so if you have not had it before, please get it soon and you can come after the first vaccine, then you will return after 2 – 4 weeks for a booster. Thereafter it will be boosted with your annual shots.
All dogs must spayed or neutered upon reaching maturity, or after 1 year at the latest. The appropriate age varies for different breeds and genders, so ask your vet for advice. If your female dog is at the right age to go into a “heat” cycle, then she will not be a good candidate for group play. Males that are not neutered by the age of 10 months become “targets” and it is not safe for them.
